Terry collins

Terry Lee Collins (born May 27, 1949) is the twentieth Mets' manager. Collins began managing in 1994 with the Houston Astros. He was fired in 1996 due to the team's failiure to make the playoffs. In 1997, he was hired by the Anaheim Angels. In 1997 and 1998, the Angels came in second place with winning records. In 1999, they had many injuries, and Collins resigned with 29 games left in the season. From 2006-2009, he managed Japan's Orix Buffaloes. In 2011, after an eleven year absence in the Major Leagues, he became the manager of the Mets. In 2011, the team was in fourth place and under .500. In 2012, after losing Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, and Francisco Rodriguez, the Mets finished the first half in third place with a .535 winning percentage.
